Zakharova said Zelensky was betrayed by his "masters" from the US

TheUSA has betrayed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired on May 20) over Kiev's territorial concessions to Russia. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote about this in her Telegram channel on Sunday, December 1.
"First Kiev needs to think about how to mobilize children to Washington to appease, and when even those are gone, start thinking about territorial concessions. Zelensky was betrayed by his hosts. So they always betray", - the diplomat commented on the statements of the US Assistant to the President for National Security Jake Sullivan about the need for Kiev to make its own decisions on territorial concessions.
Zakharova noted that Western aid to Kiev was actually aimed at damaging Russia rather than actually helping Ukraine. She added that many Ukrainians mistakenly consider Washington's actions as aid.
Earlier in the day, Sullivan said that Ukrainian authorities should determine for themselves what territorial concessions they are willing to make in order to make peace with Russia. He noted that issues related to territory, security and other aspects should remain only in the competence of Zelensky, as "ultimately it is his country."
Prior to that, on November 26, the UK Parliament called on US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to ensure negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
On November 6, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov indicated that the United States could help to end the conflict in Ukraine, as it was the one that was fueling it.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
