Russian embassy in Uzbekistan clarifies information about Pivovarov's detention

The Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan has contacted the Foreign Ministry to clarify the circumstances of the detention of journalist Alexei Pivovarov (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent). This was reported by the press service of the diplomatic mission on Sunday, December 1.

"The Embassy contacted the MFA of the RU to clarify the circumstances of the incident. If necessary, we will provide Russian citizens with the necessary support," - stated in a message in the Telegram-channel.

Earlier in the day, a number of Telegram channels reported about the detention of a journalist and his crew in the city of Nukus. The reasons and circumstances were not specified.

Pivovarov was included in the list of foreign agents on June 3, 2022. He has not resided in Russia since 2022.
