Kiev to send workers to Kryvyi Rih due to crisis in heat supply system

Brigades of workers who work in Kiev will be redirected to the city of Kryvyy Rih in southeastern Ukraine to restore heating systems. This was announced by the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitaliy Klitschko, on December 1.

"The community of the capital helps Krivoy Rog, where there is a crisis with heat supply. We send repair crews to Krivoy Rog," he wrote in his Telegram-channel.

Klitschko specified that the Kiev mayor's office will send to Kryvyi Rih more than 20 employees of the enterprise "Kyivteploenergo", as well as six units of special equipment.

Before that, on November 21, the press service of the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine reported that in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region, there was a critical situation with heating. According to the ministry, there is no heating in 934 houses, 11 health care institutions, 43 educational institutions, as well as in the territorial center of social protection. It is specified that about 110 thousand residents were left without heat.

Earlier, on November 17, it was reported that in several regions of Ukraine were seriously damaged thermal power plants (TPP). On the same day, the mayor of Odessa Hennadiy Trukhanov said that at the moment the situation with electricity supply in the city is difficult. According to him, emergency blackouts are now in effect.

Before that, on 4 November, Ukrainian geopolitical analyst and veteran of the country's armed forces Viktor Kovalenko said that the upcoming winter would be the most difficult for Ukraine since February 2022, and that ghost towns might appear amid electricity problems.
