Polish trucker causes an accident involving 50 vehicles in Germany


A Polish trucker caused a massive accident involving 50 cars on the road near the German city of Wuppertal. About it on Sunday, December 1, wrote the newspaper Bild with reference to law enforcement agencies.
Police pursued a truck driver spotted driving dangerously from the town of Neuss. He ignored demands to stop, developed high speed and made dangerous maneuvers. As a result, near the town of Wuppertal, he drove into oncoming traffic lanes and collided with several cars before coming to a stop.
As a result of the incident, 26 people were injured, eight of them are in serious condition. Operational services are working at the scene.
Local law enforcement agencies arrested the 30-year-old perpetrator of the accident. It is noted that he was in a drunken state and may have used illegal substances.
"A total of 50 cars were affected in the accident. The amount of total property damage is still unclear," investigators told the publication.
Earlier, on October 19, 13 people in Tokyo were injured of varying degrees in a crash involving seven cars, including a truck. The accident occurred in the Tamagawa Tunnel on the capital's Ota Expressway.
