Syrian president expresses confidence in defeating terrorism and its sponsors
Terrorists understand only the language of force, so Syria intends to crush and destroy terrorist groups and those who support them financially by such methods. This was stated by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a telephone conversation with acting President of Abkhazia Badra Gunba on December 1.
"We will break and destroy them regardless of the terrorists' supporters," the Mizan daily quoted him as saying.
Earlier on December 1, White House National Security Council (NSC) spokesman Sean Savett said that the US administration denied any involvement of Washington in the attack of formations of the terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (banned in Russia) in Syria. It said it was closely following developments in Syria over the past 48 hours. Savett added that the current situation was created by the Assad government's refusal to "participate in the political process."

On November 28, the Syrian Foreign Ministry reported that terrorist groups launched a major attack in Aleppo and Idlib, and the Syrian Army began to repel it, causing serious damage to the militants' equipment and manpower.
