Fraudsters cheated an 82-year-old pensioner in Moscow out of 24 million rubles

Fraudsters in Moscow stole 24 million rubles from an 82-year-old resident of the capital through deceptive manipulations. This was reported by the Moscow Prosecutor's Office on December 1.
It is noted that the swindlers had been in touch with the pensioner since September, after which they forced the elderly man to "secretly work" for them using a familiar scheme.
According to the agency, the pensioner received a call from an unknown person, who introduced himself as a bank employee, saying that Br700 thousand had been stolen from the man's account. The false employee added that the case has already been transferred to law enforcement officers, after that the pensioner received a video call from the false investigator.
"On the instructions of the telephone scammers, the pensioner withdrew 700 thousand rubles from his account, which he transferred to accounts controlled by the swindlers. Then <...> fraudulently persuaded the victim to sell an apartment on the street Tvardovskogo, to pay for the services of a realtor and to transfer the bag with 22.5 million rubles received after the transaction to the courier", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Department.
For some time the swindlers maintained contact with the man, convincing that the money and the apartment will soon be in his possession again. However, soon the pensioner decided to report about his "secret work" to his son, and the latter explained to his father that he had become a victim of fraudsters. Then he turned already to the real employees of the bodies.
"The damage from criminal actions reached 24 million rubles. Establishment of all the circumstances of the fraud is under control in Khoroshevsky inter-district Prosecutor's office", - added in the Prosecutor's office of Moscow.
Before that, on November 27, a pensioner from St. Petersburg gave 22 million rubles to fraudsters. According to the source of "Izvestia", the attackers contacted the woman several times under the guise of employees of different banks. Referring to the safety of the 67-year-old St. Petersburg woman's money, they forced her to hand over her savings to them.
