The epidemiological situation with Mycoplasma pneumoniae in Russia is under control. This was reported in the press service of Rospotrebnadzor on December 1.

"The epidemiological situation on the incidence of mycoplasma pneumonia is controlled, but during the seasonal upsurge one should not forget about preventive measures," TASS quoted the report as saying.

It is specified that the risk of infection is reduced by high-quality wet cleaning, as mycoplasmas are unstable in the external environment and are destroyed by the temperature of disinfectants and detergents.

In addition, an effective prevention called the observance of personal hygiene. It is also necessary to avoid hypothermia and close contact with a person with symptoms of colds, specifies "Gazeta.Ru".

Earlier in the day, the director of the Department of Pathomorphology and Clinical Cytology of LabQuest, candidate of medical sciences Dmitry Bulanov told "Izvestia" that in Moscow and other regions of the Russian Federation there is an increase in the number of patients with mycoplasma pneumonia.

Before that, on November 27, Alexander Umnov, a lecturer at the Department of Fundamental Medical Disciplines of the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education, a surgeon, told Izvestia the differences between mycoplasma pneumonia and typical pneumonia. According to him, mycoplasma pneumonia is accompanied by subfebrile fever (37.1-38 degrees Celsius), chills, head pain and myalgia (muscle pain), as well as dry cough.
