Irish journalist Chay Bose on November 30 mocked the "popularity" of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20.

"He has essentially led hundreds of thousands of his fellow citizens to their deaths, banned the church, suppressed the media and rules the country like an unelected dictator. 'Popularity' indeed," he wrote on social network X (formerly Twitter).

The Times wrote the day before that because of his declining popularity, Zelensky's chances of re-election are very slim. Sixty percent of citizens opposed his candidacy for the Ukrainian presidency.

Earlier, on November 21, Bose called Zelensky and incumbent US President Joe Biden fraudsters. In addition, the journalist pointed out the desire of Biden to destroy evidence of involvement of himself and his son Hunter in the machinations with money related to earnings on the Ukrainian conflict.

Before that, on November 20, former French senator and publicist Yves Pozzo di Borgo told Izvestia that Zelensky was to blame for the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he refused to fulfill the Minsk agreements and thus took the main responsibility for unleashing the Ukrainian conflict.

According to the provisions of the Ukrainian constitution, Zelensky's presidential term ended on May 20. Elections were to be held in March this year, but they were canceled due to the martial law imposed by the president in Ukraine, effective from February 24, 2022.

On 17 May, Vladimir Putin said that the issue of the legitimacy of the president should be resolved within the Ukrainian state, while the issue of the legality of the Ukrainian political leader in office remains important for Russia.
