Sobyanin announced the start of applications for the Moscow Architectural Award

In the capital the reception of applications for the Architectural Award of the City of Moscow 2025 has begun. This was announced by Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.

In total, the competition will be held in 12 nominations. "The jury will choose the best housing projects, social facilities (schools, kindergartens, medical and sports centers), houses under the Renovation Program, infrastructure facilities and other. The main evaluation criteria are the quality of architectural solutions, innovativeness and professionalism," Sobyanin wrote in his Telegram channel.

Design organizations that have received AGR approval certificates during 2024 can participate in the competition. Applicants must fill out an application form on the official website of the award, providing data on the project, author's team and contact information.

Documents for the contest will be accepted until February 15 next year. "The winners will be awarded in July. The ceremony will be timed to coincide with the Architect's Day," said the mayor of Moscow.

In November, Moscow started accepting applications for the contest "Golden Spike 2025", dedicated to the development of the territory of VDNKh. According to Sergei Sobyanin, the theme of the competition this time is "The best project to recreate the historic pavilions of the VDNKh". Applicants can submit their ideas for the pavilions "Hunting and animal breeding", "Glavpivo", "Ural", "Ice Cream" or the Grand Cinema.

According to the organizers, the competition's objectives are "to identify the best projects for the development of objects and zones on the territory of VDNKh, which will emphasize the uniqueness of the territory" of the exhibition. In addition, the competition is held to create "a base of creative ideas and proposals for renovation, regeneration and modernization of zones, sites and objects" of the complex.
