Lawyers of the son of the current US President Joe Biden believe that the future of Hunter Biden is threatened by the victory of Republican Donald Trump in the election of the head of state. This was reported on November 30 by The Washington Post newspaper with reference to the report of the defense.

"With the election results already determined, the threat to Hunter is real <...> There is no doubt that Trump has referred to Hunter as a member of his enemies list," the text states, which is published in connection with the planned December sentencing in both cases against Hunter Biden.

Members of his team also said that Trump "could turn revenge on prosecutors" if they do not take a tougher stance, and considered it a factor of significant pressure.

According to reporters, the document repeats many of Hunter Biden's past defense arguments and appears to be addressed directly to Biden Sr. who can pardon his son but has publicly refused to do so.

Earlier, on October 24, Trump - at that time a presidential candidate - admitted that he could pardon Hunter Biden after his victory. According to the politician, he is able to take such a step, although he himself was severely persecuted by the current authorities.

In September, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to nine counts of criminal charges of non-payment of taxes, and in June - on three counts of weapons possession. The verdict in these cases will be announced on December 12 and 16.

The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 50% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 48.4%.
