Mass events and school classes canceled in AFU-controlled Slovyansk

The city of Slovyansk, which is located in the Kiev-controlled part of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), has closed all schools and canceled public events. This was reported by Strana.ua on November 30, citing an order by the city's mayor, Vadym Lyakh.
It is specified that the Kiev authorities banned all types of face-to-face activities in the field of education, culture, youth policy and sports, that is, all educational institutions went online.
According to the resolution, the decision was taken against the background of the aggravation of the security situation.
Earlier, on October 25, in Ukraine reported the closure of more than 2 thousand schools due to the departure of young people from the country. It is specified that schools in villages are most actively closed, however, in cities there is also a similar trend - about 5% of schools have been closed for four years.
Before that, on October 15, Verkhovna Rada MP Nina Yuzhanina said that 300,000 children had left Ukraine before the start of the school year.
Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose term of office expired on 20 May, acknowledged the large-scale outflow of young people from the country. He called this situation dangerous.
Also in October, Ukrainian Culture and Information Policy Minister Mykola Tochytskyy said that cultural workers were leaving Ukraine en masse. According to him, they can go abroad if they have a corresponding application from the ministry.
In the same month, former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov told Izvestiya that the scale of mobilization in the country was very serious and it would continue despite the negative attitude of citizens and their attempts to hide from military commissars. The current Ukrainian law on mobilization leaves no possibility for any man to avoid going to the front, the politician pointed out.
