The car of Japan's Prime Minister and chairman of the country's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Shigeru Ishiba crashed into a security car, the head of parliament was not injured. This was reported by 47News on December 1.
According to preliminary data, the car carrying Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba collided with the vehicle of a police officer who was standing at a traffic light in the city of Tottori.
The TV channel informed that the convoy of cars was only delayed for a few minutes at the scene of the accident, the Prime Minister was not injured.
Earlier, on November 11, Shigeru Ishiba fell asleep during his re-election at the plenary session of the House of Representatives. The prime minister fell asleep at the vote, which was held the previous day, due to his poor health. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi told reporters that the politician had taken cold medicine. A few days earlier, he was treated at the International University of Health and Welfare Hospital in Tokyo.
Ishiba had previously replaced Fumio Kishida as Japan's prime minister on Oct. 1 due to "low public confidence" in the politician.
