Trump nominated Cash Patel to head the FBI

US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Cash Patel, former chief of staff to the US Secretary of Defense, to head the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Trump announced this on December 1 on his Truth Social network.
"Cash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator and fighter for 'America First' who has dedicated his career to exposing corruption, protecting justice and the American people," Trump wrote.
The president-elect said Patel had a significant impact in exposing Russia's attributed meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Trump is convinced that under the new head of the FBI "the crime epidemic in America will be ended." He also expects Patel to "destroy criminal migrant gangs and stop the evil scourge of human and drug trafficking across the border."
Earlier, on November 27, Donald Trump announced that the special envoy for Ukraine in his administration will be the national security adviser to former Vice President Mike Pence, Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg. The Republican promised that together they would "bring peace through strength and make America and the world safe again."
Prior to that, on Nov. 23, Trump nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to be U.S. Justice Secretary. The president-elect also noted Bondi's work to stop drug trafficking and reduce the number of drug-related deaths.
On Nov. 20, Trump nominated former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to be the U.S. permanent representative to NATO. He called Whitaker a strong warrior and dedicated patriot and said he would "put America first."
At the time, Trump also proposed nominating Linda McMahon, who led the U.S. Small Business Administration during Trump's first term in office, as the nation's Secretary of Education. McMahon could have headed the U.S. Department of Commerce, but investor and billionaire Howard Lutnick was nominated for the post.
The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the popular vote, Trump received 50% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 48.4%. Speaking to supporters afterward, the politician called his goal as head of state the end of military conflicts in the world.
