In the border area of Kursk Region, servicemen of the military police of the "North" group of troops have delivered humanitarian aid to residents of settlements in Korenevsky district, where civilian volunteers cannot reach. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 1.

In the Kursk region, military police officers of the "North" group of troops deliver food and basic necessities to the civilian population. If necessary, civilians are evacuated to safer areas.

"Several people who do not want to leave their households categorically refuse. Some people because of their age, some even because of their households stay, because of their pets, let's say. That's why we visit them every day," said Alexander, a dispatcher of the North group of troops.

The situation is especially difficult in remote settlements, where there is no electricity, gas or food, and people can only be reached by off-road vehicles.

Local residents thanked the servicemen of the group of troops "North" for the help provided.

"The guys are helping, we were digging potatoes, the guys helped, we managed to get a little bit before the frost <...> We are never going to leave. We will never abandon our homeland", - commented a resident of the Kursk region Lilia.

Earlier, on November 23, the Russian Red Cross (RRC) helped to restore contact with 1.2 thousand missing residents of the Kursk region. In addition, the organization said that 46 residents of Sujan district who returned from Ukraine provided humanitarian aid, psychological support, as well as restored contact with relatives.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the AFU units that invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
