Expert warns of sharp rise in price of Chinese cars in early 2025

Cars of Chinese brands risk a significant increase in price from the beginning of 2025. This was stated by Renat Tyukteev, General Director for New Car Sales at Avilon AG, in a conversation with Gazeta.Ru.
As noted by the interlocutor, the trend to increase prices for cars from China began in October this year: then the growth amounted to about 5%. According to the results of November, the dynamics of prices for cars will not slow down, the expert noted.
"In December, price growth will be minimal, the main spurt on Chinese cars will be at the beginning of next year, as the yuan is getting more expensive against the ruble too, which will affect the purchase prices in rubles", - emphasized Tyukteev.
According to the general director of Avilon, the reason for the change in prices was not only the high key rate, but also the progressive tariffs of the utilization fee.
Earlier, on November 18, the United Credit Bureau (UCB) reported that the volume of car loans in October decreased by 37% compared to the previous month. The average full cost of auto loans in October exceeded 23%, the UCB noted. The average term of a car loan increased to five years and ten months, and its average size - to 1.44 million rubles.
Prior to that, November 14, Renat Tyukteev said that the volume of cars in dealers' warehouses, bought out at old prices, is calculated, tentatively, for 1.5 months of sales. According to Tyukteyev, given the high turnover of Chinese cars, all cars will be sold out before the New Year, besides, one should not expect New Year discounts.
