Deputy Director of Rosgvardiya presented medals to winners of sambo competitions in Moscow

The winners of the All-Russian sambo competition "Kletskov Brothers Cup" were awarded in Moscow. Medals were awarded to athletes at the ceremony on November 30 by his deputy, Colonel-General Alexei Vorobyov, on behalf of the Director of the Rosgvardiya, Army General Viktor Zolotov, the press service of the agency reported.

The tournament was attended by the best wrestlers of the elite educational institutions of the Rosguard - pupils of the Moscow and Perm Presidential Cadet Schools. The venue of the competition was the base of the sports complex "Sambo-70".

Addressing the organizers of the tournament and young athletes, Colonel-General Vorobyov stressed that the Rosguard pays great attention to the development of physical qualities of servicemen and staff. Sambo is one of the most popular sports in the troops. He noted that the All-Russian Sambo Federation and the Sambo-70 Center for Sports and Education, with which the agency has been cooperating for a long time, make an invaluable contribution to the development of this martial art.

The young sambo wrestlers were also welcomed by Sergey Solomatin, Director of the Sambo-70 Center for Sport and Education of Moskomport, the organizers of the tournament - brothers Nikita and Dmitry Kletskov and other guests of honor.

Nikita Kletskov - four-time world sambo champion, seven-time champion of Russia, Honored Master of Sports of the Russian Federation. Dmitry Kletskov - winner of the Sambo World Cup, winner and medalist of European and Russian championships, Master of Sports International Class.

Before that, on November 16, Russia celebrated the Day of Sambo, a type of martial arts that was born 86 years ago and has become one of the most popular in the country. The Russian sambo school has brought up many champions, and more than 300 thousand people are engaged in this kind of martial arts in Russia alone.
