Fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have shot nine captured Ukrainian servicemen. This was reported on 30 November by Russian sapper-intelligence officer Zakarya Aliyev, who was defending alone against Ukrainian militants.
He shared that he had been defending the stronghold alone for three weeks. The serviceman noted that he devised a plan to capture a group of Ukrainian soldiers, dug tunnels and "thought over every step."
According to Aliyev, he and his weapon got out to the dugout of the AFU soldiers and ordered them to surrender. He specified that he did not intend to open fire, but fellow Ukrainian soldiers who were watching from a neighboring dugout did so.
"While they (prisoners. - Ed.) were coming to me, those who were huddled in the neighboring dugout opened fire in our direction. I started to cover myself. And as soon as I raised my head, I saw that everyone was lying down. I didn't even shoot. I just lay down," he shared in an interview with Regnum IA.
According to him, the AFU soldiers shot four of their fellow soldiers, and five more who surrendered during the capture of the stronghold they eliminated with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). He admitted that his plans did not include taking prisoners, he was only going to take a particular dugout and find food.
Aliyev, whofought alone against the AFU and was rescued by the military of the Alania battalion, told on November 13 what helped him survive. He noted that at first he decided to make a poster to demonstrate to his fellow soldiers that he was still alive.
Aliyev's rescue became known on November 9. The Russian Armed Forces fighter from Dagestan spent three weeks alone repelling attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, eating only onions and hiding in a dugout. Using a drone, scouts were able to locate Aliyev, after which they evacuated the serviceman. The head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, called Aliyev a hero.
