- Russian woman continues to starve for the fifth day on the liner bound for Antarctica

A Russian passenger named Natalya Litvinova has been on hunger strike for five days on the stalled liner SH Diana bound for Antarctica. This was reported to Izvestia on November 30 by another tourist on board the ship.
"I am on board the SH Diana. I am very concerned about the situation of my compatriot Natalya, who is starving without water for the fifth day. It's as if the crew doesn't notice Natalia at all. A medic comes once a day to measure her vitals. Today he hasn't come yet," the woman said.
According to her, the crew of the liner does not show any interest and sympathy for the passenger's condition, the crew members pass by the woman.
"We are currently approaching the Strait of Beagle, the coast of Argentina. I am concerned about the well-being of the starving woman and the attitude of the crew towards her," the woman summarized.
Earlier, on November 29, the British newspaper The Times reported that passengers of the SH Diana liner heading to Antarctica, including Russians, went on hunger strike due to engine failure. The captain of the ship said the reason for the refusal to sail to Antarctica was propeller failure. One of the passengers said that the captain of the ship did not inform the Russian Embassy that the Russian tourists had started a hunger strike in protest. She noted that citizens from Britain and China had also joined them.
Later, the development director of the British cruise company Swan Hellenic in Russia, Yulia Dmitrieva , told Izvestia that two hunger-striking passengers of the liner had managed to reach an agreement, while another passenger was still negotiating with her. For the disrupted trip, the organizer offered customers to choose between a 65% discount on the next cruise and a refund of 50% of the ticket price for the failed trip. At the same time, Natalya Litvinova, a starving Russian woman, wants to receive a voucher for a similar cruise from the company.
