Due to a shortage of electricity, Ukraine has requested imports of the resource from five countries. This was reported by the country's energy ministry on November 30.

"Imports from Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Moldavia are predicted," - stated in the message on the website of the Ukrainian Department.

It is specified that the volume of electricity imports will amount to 11,747 MWh, capacity - 1165 MW.

The Ministry of Energy also urged consumers to use resources rationally and economically.

Earlier, on November 24, The Times reported that Ukraine faces "deadly frosts" due to the insecurity of the energy system. It is noted that back in late February, British engineers together with teams from America, Germany and Japan advised Kiev to build structures to protect the energy system. However, the Ukrainian government headed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose term of office expired on May 20, did not do so.

On November 17, the Ukrainian energy holding company DTEK reported that thermal power plants in several regions of Ukraine were seriously damaged. The head of the country's energy ministry, German Galushchenko, said that Ukraine was introducing a regime of emergency power cuts.

The mayor of Odessa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, also spokeabout the difficult situation with the power supply at the same time. Blackouts were also observed in Kiev on November 18.

On November 11, The Wall Street Journal reported that an acute shortage of electricity in Ukraine in winter may turn the country's cities into places with uninhabitable conditions. The publication called the inability to generate the required amount of energy a serious test for the Kiev regime.
