The West is conducting the situation with the protests in Georgia. This statement was made by Mamuka Pipia, international secretary of the Solidarity for Peace party, in a conversation with Izvestia on November 30.

According to him, Western partners give instructions to provocateurs, which are implemented mechanically. He noted that this is a coup plan, "which they had a year ago."

"They (Western countries. - Ed.) are behind these provocateurs, naturally, and they are just conducting this whole situation. Their plan is very simple. Of course, it is wrapped up under the alleged accession of Georgia to the European Union, but no one is waiting for Georgia in the European Union," he said.

Pipia recalled the existence of non-governmental organizations and provocateurs who have been trained at various revolutionary events over the years. Thus, he cited the example of Ukraine in 2004, Georgia in 2003, as well as Kyrgyzstan and Moldova, which faced revolutionary actions.

The Solidarity for Peace secretary specified that the West's goal at the current moment is to destabilize Georgia.

"They need here and now to create a hotbed of tension near Russia's borders. Everything is very clear and understandable," he summarized.

Earlier in the day, a crowd of protesters again gathered outside the Georgian parliament building in the center of Tbilisi on Freedom Square. At the same time it was reported that law enforcers started using water cannons to disperse protesters near the Georgian parliament building on Rustaveli Street.

The day before "Izvestia" reported about the intensification of security measures on Rustaveli Avenue against the background of the anti-government rally. There were several dozen protesters near the Parliament building, who probably stayed there overnight.

On the same day, it was reported that protests continued in Tbilisi over the suspension of negotiations on European integration. The protesters oppose the decision to postpone negotiations with the EU. The Georgian Interior Ministry reported that 32 police officers required medical assistance after the dispersal of unrest near the parliament building.

Before that, on November 28, the ruling Georgian Dream party decided to suspend discussions with the EU on opening accession talks with the union until 2028. As Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze specified, Georgia will continue to fulfill its obligations under the associated membership and free trade agreement and will fulfill them by 90% by 2028.
