Dozens of Syrian servicemen were killed and wounded while repelling attacks by the extremist group Jebhat al-Nusra (banned in Russia) in Aleppo and Idlib. This was reported by the Syrian Armed Forces General Command on Saturday, November 30.

"Our armed forces fought fierce battles against them (militants. - Ed.) on a strip of more than 100 kilometers to stop their advance. In the course of the fighting, dozens of fighters of our Armed Forces were killed and wounded," the statement quotes Syria News.

It is specified that a massive attack from several directions in Aleppo and Idlib in recent days began armed terrorist organizations affiliated with "Jebhat al-Nusra", supported by thousands of foreign fighters, heavy weapons and a large number of drones.

According to the Syrian military, the terrorists have infiltrated many neighborhoods of Aleppo in recent hours. At the same time, it is noted that the groups are unable to consolidate their positions, as the government army continues to strike the militants in anticipation of reinforcements.

The day before, it was reported that the Syrian army eliminated hundreds of terrorists in Aleppo and Idlib and continued the offensive on all points where the militants had entrenched themselves. The Center for Reconciliation of Enemy Parties (CRAP) specified that at least 200 terrorists were destroyed by the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) during the day.

Earlier, on November 28, the Syrian Defense Ministry reported that terrorist groups had launched a major attack in Aleppo and Idlib, and the Syrian Army responded by inflicting serious damage to the militants' equipment and manpower. The CPVS reported at the time that the Syrian military, backed by the Russian Armed Forces, had killed at least 400 radical Islamists.
