Three defendants in the Crocus terrorist attack case appealed against arrest

The defense of Zubaidullo Ismailov, Umejon Soliev and Husein Khamidov, defendants in the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack case, appealed against the extension of their arrest. Information about this is posted on the portal of the courts of general jurisdiction of Moscow.

The appeal was filed against the decision of the Basmanny District Court, which on November 26 extended the three defendants' preventive measure in the form of detention until March 1, 2025.

Ismoilov, Soliev and Khamidov are charged under part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization"). They and two other defendants were transferred to Moscow from Dagestan in early October.

Earlier, on November 21, Basmanny court also extended the arrest of Shakhromdzhon Gadoev and Mustakim Soliev (included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation) until February 28, 2025. They are members of the terrorist group Wilayat Khorasan (the Afghan wing of the Islamic State, the organizations are recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia).

The terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall took place on March 22. Terrorists in camouflage stormed into the building, shooting and setting fire to the concert hall. The attack killed 145 people and injured 551.

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia said that the terrorists who committed the attack after the crime were supposed to cross the border between Russia and Ukraine, come to Kiev and receive the promised reward.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Terrorist act"). The head of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, Bortnikov, said on May 24 that more than 20 people, including the perpetrators and accomplices, had been detained in the case. All of them are in custody, their arrest has been extended several times.
