Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20, has expressed his willingness to cooperate with US President-elect Donald Trump. He said this in an interview with Sky News on November 29.

As Zelensky noted, Washington retains a key role in supporting Kiev, in this regard, Ukraine needs the participation of both political parties - the Republican and Democratic parties.

"Of course, we will work with Trump. I want to interact with him directly to avoid distortions in communication due to different opinions of his entourage," Zelensky said.

He recalled that he had a "warm and constructive meeting" with Trump during his visit to New York in September.

Asked about possible contacts with the US President's nominated special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, Zelensky confirmed his acquaintance with him. He also noted that there had been no serious discussions in this regard so far.

In addition, Zelensky said that Ukraine has finalized the peace plan.

"The plan is already fully ready, I previously reported it to world leaders. Now it is fully finalized," he added.

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term expired on May 20, said he was ready to end the armed conflict in exchange for NATO membership, even if Russia did not immediately return the territories.

On November 10, The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump may succeed in "bringing Kiev, which is losing its frontline positions, to the negotiating table." WSJ wrote back on Nov. 7 that Trump's team is already discussing a new plan to end the conflict in Ukraine. It includes several main points, according to which the front line is frozen and a demilitarized zone is declared along its length. At the same time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed the opinion that the publication is abstract and resembles the plan itself.

The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the nationwide vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Harris received 47.4%. The results were met with prolonged applause in Trump's campaign headquarters. The politician himself later called himself the 47th president of the United States. Speaking to supporters, the Republican said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
