US President Joe Biden said that his administration is working with the FBI to investigate the threats of force and explosive devices that were made this week to lawmakers and members of President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet. Reuters reported on Nov. 29.

"We are working diligently with the FBI," Biden said in response to questions about threats toward the Trump team.

House of Representatives member Seth Magaziner, a Democrat from Rhode Island, said on Friday he received a bomb threat at his home. That came a day after six Connecticut Democrats reported similar threats against their homes during Thanksgiving celebrations. Law enforcement has found no evidence of explosive devices, the lawmakers said.

Reuters reports that Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump's nominee for defense secretary, and Lee Zeldin, proposed to head the Environmental Protection Agency, were among those who also faced threats during the week. The threats against them came on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Earlier, on November 28, US President Joe Biden expressed hope that President-elect Donald Trump, who will take over the country after him, will reconsider his decision to impose import duties on goods from China, Canada and Mexico.

On the same day, Russian leader Vladimir Putin questioned the safety of US President-elect Donald Trump. At a press conference following his state visit to Kazakhstan, he recalled that absolutely uncivilized methods of struggle were used against the Republican in the United States, up to and including an assassination attempt.

Thefirst attempt on Trump occurred on July 13 at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The politician received a gunshot wound in the ear on a tangent. One of the spectators was killed, two were wounded. The assailant was eliminated by return fire from an FBI sniper.

The second attempt was made on September 15: there was a shooting at a golf club in West Palm Beach. Trump was 500 meters from the scene, he was not injured.

Later, on November 27, US federal authorities arrested a man who threatened to kill Trump and members of his family. It was specified that the arrested person had published in the social network a number of videos with threats against "person No. 1". Sources familiar with the investigation confirmed that the threats were directed against Trump.
