Armenia could potentially return to the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in 2025 due to growing tensions in the world, political analyst Iqbal Durre predicted to Izvestia.

"I think that tensions in the world next year will shift to the Middle East, to Iran. Armenia will need security guarantees. It cannot become a NATO member, and France will not be able to provide security guarantees for the republic. I think that one way or another Armenia will return to the CSTO," he added.

Armenia did not attend the recent CSTO summit in Astana. The country froze its participation in the organization back in February 2024. And in spring Yerevan refused to pay the membership fee.
