Russian passengers of the ship SH Diana, who did not get to Antarctica, demanded from the company Swan Hellenic 100 percent compensation for the cancellation of the tour and announced their intentions to picket in the port of Argentina. This is stated in a video message of tourists on November 29.

Passengers said that instead of the promised trip to Antarctica, which implied 17 stops, they received three disembarkations of an hour each and 20 days of inactivity on the ship.

"For that you want to withhold half the money. If you think this is fair, we are ready to challenge it. Unfortunately, due to bureaucratic procedures, we realize that legally, that is, through the court, from you, as a foreign company, it will be problematic for us, citizens of Russia, to get compensation," announced one of the tourists in the video.

In addition, according to passengers, on the liner that went out on the cruise did not work stabilization, in connection with which the tourists were constantly seasick.

"We are forced to go on radical measures such as hunger strikes. We also plan to organize and get permission to picket the port upon arrival, if you do not come out with us and do not start discussing normal common sense conditions," concluded the protester.

The day before it became known that due to engine malfunctions on the cruise liner SH Diana on the way to Antarctica stuck more than 170 passengers, including Russian tourists. The company's management promised to compensate half of the cost of the tour, the protesting Russians are demanding full compensation. Due to the fact that technical problems interrupted their trip, tourists from Russia went on hunger strike.

On November 29, Natalia, a passenger of the liner, told Izvestia that the captain of the ship did not notify the Russian Embassy about the Russians on board on hunger strike.

Later, the Russian Embassy in Argentina contacted the passengers of the defective liner. The situation is under control of the crew and coastal services, the agency reports.
