- A US company accused the AFU General Staff and the National Police of Ukraine of extortion

The US company Sinclair & Wilde has accused the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the country's national police of corruption and extortion. The relevant facts are given on November 29 in an open letter of the businessmen on the website of the law firm BGD Legal & Consulting LLC.
According to the statement, "Ukrainian partners" refused to pay $14.5 million for the supply of military uniforms for the AFU. The reason for this is that Sinclair & Wilde refused to provide a bribe for this.
The US businessmen said that they intend to demand that Ukraine investigate the fact of corruption. The country's national police responded that the amount in question was not paid because Sinclair & Wilde allegedly simply inflates the prices of its goods.
"Sinclair & Wilde categorically denies the false and unsubstantiated statements made in the video of the National Police of Ukraine. It is obvious that this publication is an attempt to cover up its own internal corruption and the corruption of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in its continued attempts to deny payment to Sinclair & Wilde after it has repeatedly refused to pay the bribes demanded of it," - stated in the text of the open letter.
It is noted that after the Ukrainian side grossly violated the contract, demanding to supply uniforms for the military without prepayment, the US authorities stopped cooperation with the national police.
Earlier, on October 30, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, speaking at a meeting of the Rada, criticized the Ukrainian government for serving the interests of corrupt officials. The former president accused the Ukrainian government of ignoring the main priority of the Ukrainian budget, namely the funding of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Before that, on October 5, French politician and leader of the Patriots party Florian Philippot called on Western countries to stop funding Ukraine because of corruption in the country. Philippot had already called on the West to make such a decision in August after the deputy head of the Ukrainian Energy Ministry and three of his accomplices were detained for a $500,000 bribe.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
