A cynologist urged to think about the health of a dog when coping at home

President of the Russian Cynological Federation Vladimir Golubev told on Friday, November 29, what the owner of a dog should pay attention to first of all, if the pet spits in the house.

According to the expert, an adult dog will not go to the toilet at home to spite the owner. Above all, it's a reason to check the pet's health.

Infections, age or chronic changes in the body, diabetes, problems with the genitourinary system and other diseases can cause this behavior of the animal.

"If nothing bothers the dog, then after consultation with a veterinarian, it is important to analyze its behavior, external factors, possible irritants and adjust them to solve the problem," the expert told Radio 1.

Being under stress, the dog can stop controlling its condition and therefore go to the toilet at home. The animal does not do it out of spite to the owner, dogs do not have abstract thinking, they do not analyze their actions, stressed the cynologist.

In addition, the animal may be afraid of something on the street, for example, the sound of cars, other dogs and will not be able to go to the toilet during the walk because of the tension. At home, when relaxed, the dog may have a strong urge to go to the toilet and may not make it home before the next walk.

Frequent changes in the walking schedule can cause the dog to leave puddles in the house. This also applies to short walks: if you take your pet out for only 10-15 minutes and rush him, he may not have time to empty himself completely outside and will do so at home.

Puddles on the floor are more common in puppies because of their physiology and age, and this behavior is usually not cause for concern. With age and proper training, such incidents pass.

If an adult pet has started to go to the bathroom in the house, you should not scold the dog - it is ineffective. It is better to understand the reasons and correct its behavior to avoid similar situations in the future, the expert concluded.

November 26, "Izvestia" wrote that the State Duma adopted a law on liability for violation of the rules of walking animals. Violators will be punished with fines.

The punishment will affect those who walk pets of potentially dangerous breeds without muzzles or let them off the leash in the wrong place. Individuals will be fined from Br1.5 thousand to Br3 thousand, while legal entities will have to pay from Br15 thousand to Br30 thousand.

November 27, the Federation Council at a meeting approved the law establishing administrative responsibility for failure to comply with the requirements for the maintenance of pets, reports the agency of city news "Moscow".
