Taiwan's Foreign Ministry says valuable lessons learned from Ukraine conflict

The Taiwanese government has been able to draw valuable lessons from the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Wu Zhizhong, deputy foreign minister of the island province, said at the Taiwan Forum in Slovakia on Nov. 29.
"Taiwan has learned valuable lessons from the Russia-Ukraine conflict <...> and the asymmetric strategy employed by Ukraine provides Taiwan with important revelations," RIA Novosti quoted the minister as saying.
The diplomat also added that international support for Ukraine is currently of "critical importance." In addition, this aspect has a "profound impact on Taiwan's future development."
Earlier, on November 24, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that the United States was using Taiwan to foment conflict in Asia in order to realize its interests. The diplomat noted that the situation in Taiwan is within the exclusive competence of the People's Republic of China. However, Washington, in violation of the principle of "one China" recognized by itself, strengthens military and political contacts with Taipei under the slogan of preserving the status quo, increasing arms supplies to the island.
Prior to that, on November 17, Chinese President Xi Jinping said at a meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden that the United States should not interfere in the South China Sea disputes and the Taiwan issue.
