The Ministry of Justice recognized political scientist Stanova and the Sova Center as foreign agents

The Sova research center and political scientist Tatyana Stanovaya have been recognized as foreign agents in Russia. This was reported on November 29 on the website of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.

"November 29, 2024 in accordance with the orders of the Ministry of Justice of Russia in the register of foreign agents included T.A. Stanovaya, research center "Sova" <...>", - stated in the publication of the department.

It is specified that Stanovaya took part in the dissemination of foreign agent messages, as well as in the creation of materials of the organization, the activities of which are recognized as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation. In addition, the political scientist disseminated inaccurate information about the decisions taken by the public authorities of Russia and their policies.

At the moment, Stanovaya resides outside the Russian state.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the Sova Center received funds from a foreign source. Also participated in the distribution of foreign agent materials and provided false information about the decisions taken by the authorities.

Earlier, on September 13, the Ministry of Justice recognized Sobesednik-Media LLC as a foreign agent. The company disseminated inaccurate information about the decisions and policies of the Russian authorities, as well as inaccurate information aimed at forming a negative image of the Russian Armed Forces.

Before that, on September 3, Justice Minister Konstantin Chuichenko warned at a meeting of the department's board that renaming Telegram channels recognized as foreign agents would not cancel the obligation to comply with the requirements for labeling materials and messages. According to him, attempts by foreign agents to avoid fulfilling their obligations in this way will not succeed, as "their legal personality remains unchanged".
