- Giving calendars: demand for corporate gift making has grown in the Russian Federation

The demand for corporate gifts at the end of 2024 has increased significantly: they are now ordered 83% more actively than last year, according to data from online platforms. Branded candles, home fragrances and tea sets are popular, as well as gifts in the format of calendars with several boxes that must be opened gradually (so-called Advent calendars). Companies are trying to give their partners not only souvenirs, but also emotions, experts emphasize. Therefore, more and more often NGOs and their wards are involved in making gifts for partners and clients, and charity foundations confirm this. What else companies are planning to give, in Izvestia's article.
Why interest in corporate gifts is growing
Business representatives have started to actively buy gifts for partners and employees for the New Year holidays. In November, the demand for services to create corporate gifts increased by 83% compared to the same month last year, follows from the data "Avito Services".
The most active corporate gifts are ordered by companies and entrepreneurs from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg and Kazan. The demand for them has also increased in Novosibirsk, Ufa, Sochi, Yekaterinburg and Saratov.
Craftsmen have also become more active this year: there are 2.5 times more offers to make presents, or 168% more. They offer lamps, Christmas balls and other products with a logo and photo from 990 rubles per piece, as well as gift sets of tea, candles, sweets and holiday decorations from 1.5 thousand per box, wooden products with individual engraving - from 600 rubles per piece. At the same time, many manufacturers indicate that they will accept orders only until mid-December in order to have time to produce everything in time.
Among the popular corporate gifts this year branded candles and stationery, honey and tea with the company logo, T-shirts and calendars with a snake - the symbol of the coming 2025.
- Compositions of spruce lapniki and toys in small hat boxes are also gaining popularity. On individual orders it is possible to make badges and weave feneches with the name or company name, - told in "Avito Services".
This year companies are trying to make corporate gifts more emotional, personalized and memorable, Alexander Einhorn, head of product marketing department of illan Communications, told Izvestia.
- The emphasis is gradually shifting to emotions and interaction with the audience. Gifts should not only be functional, but also surprise with their concept, tell a story, and convey values shared by the recipients," he said.
One of the favorites of this season, the expert called gifts in the format of an Advent calendar with several windows, which should be opened gradually.
- The main idea here is to spend more time with your audience than it takes just to open the gift wrapping," explained Alexander Eingorn.
Such a set, according to him, can have any number of compartments. The filling can also be varied - from sweets to accessories or gadgets.
- Advent is becoming a universal tool, and can be timed not only for New Year's Eve, but for any event," he added.
Also popular, he said, are scented gifts - diffusers, candles, sachets with personalized designs and scents associated with the brand.
- All this creates a strong emotional bond. In addition, such gifts last long enough and, most importantly, they stand in plain sight, not dusty in distant drawers," the expert emphasized.
Among other trends of corporate gifts Alexander Eingorn named familiar items such as shoppers, water bottles, backpacks, but with individual design, which is created with the help of additional accessories.
- Carabiners, paracord cords and other decorative elements that can be used to enhance bags, thermal mugs are popular," he said.
Gift bags, cosmetic bags, laptop cases and other accessories this year can also be made of bouclé fabric, which has a rough surface in the form of knots or loops. It is at the peak of fashion, but it is also associated with care and coziness.
- Today we are experiencing a boom in collaborations. Brands are collaborating with literally everyone - designers, bloggers and, of course, other brands. This trend could not bypass the sphere of New Year's corporate gifts. For example, it can be a set of porcelain with author's illustrations of artists or textiles with prints, the rights to which belong to museums, galleries, theaters and so on, - added Alexander Eingorn.
New Year's gifts with meaning
This year the trend for corporate gifts created in cooperation with non-profit organizations and charitable foundations is actively gaining momentum, Alexander Eingorn pointed out. He called this option convenient for everyone: foundations receive additional funding, and the corporate brand is strengthened through messages that are meaningful to the recipients. Foundation beneficiaries can both make souvenirs and develop design or decoration for them.
Several NGOs confirmed to Izvestia the interest in such cooperation on the part of commercial companies.
- Often before the holidays our partners ask us to share with them the drawings of our children, which are used in the design of greeting cards for employees and partners," said Naila Novozhilova, Director of the Arithmetic of Goodness Foundation.
If a few years ago companies from the non-profit sector were planning to give up souvenirs altogether, now they have reconsidered their views, added Evgenia Sokolovskaya, Director of Public Relations of the charity organization "Perspectives".
- The idea to create unique projects together with our beneficiaries from psycho-neurological boarding schools and homes for accompanied living arose, and in return the company transfers funds to programs to help children and adults with severe disabilities, - she explained.
The foundation, she said, offers T-shirts, sweatshirts, shoppers, diaries, calendars, and mugs with prints of works by artists of the Perspektiv art studio. Foundation beneficiaries are happy to have the opportunity to participate in the creation of gifts. For example, the charitable foundation for children with cancer and other serious diseases "Nastenka" announces a drawing contest among them, the winners of which get gift cards, calendars and T-shirts.
- Our wards like to participate in such projects, they are very pleased that their creativity is used by serious large companies, they are proud that they can help themselves and other children, - assured the fundraiser for work with corporate partners of the "Nastenka" Foundation Anastasia Galenda.
Participation in making corporate gifts becomes a motivation not to stop at what has been achieved and to learn new things, believes Daria Lipovetskaya, executive director of the charity organization "Anna Helps".
The charity foundation "Second Breath" helps corporate partners to make gifts that are also environmentally friendly.
- Nowadays, brands increasingly want not just beautiful products with their brand, but also practical, meaningful and environmentally friendly. For example, we help make shoppers with colorful designs and eco-friendly composition: 60% recycled polyester and 40% recycled cotton, - shared the pr-manager of the Foundation Daniil Zhdanov.
Non-profit organizations are ready to offer companies not only gifts, but even corporate events with meaning. For example, the Life as a Miracle Foundation organizes an intellectual quiz.
- A company makes a donation to the fund and gathers a team that joins the quiz. We take care of the organizational aspects. As a result, everyone leaves with joyful emotions and impressions, and children with liver diseases get the necessary support, - explained the director of the fund Anastasia Cherepanova.
Also, according to her, the foundation holds creative master classes in companies for employees to felting hearts for a donation. This is an effective way to make the team more united and help children together, Anastasia Cherepanova believes.
