This was told by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry, summarizing the results of the service in connection with the end of the rainy season.
"We are introducing the best innovative solutions in Moscow transportation, which allow us to improve the comfort of passenger travel. We will continue to develop new technologies on behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin," Maxim Liksutov noted.
The project was launched in July 2024 and is currently operating in test mode. A total of 6 apparatuses have been installed, 210 umbrellas are in the lease turnover. The devices are placed at 5 metro stations: "Fiztech" (exit #1), "Yakhromskaya" (exit #1), "Lianozovo" (between exits #1 and #2-5, between exits #6 and #7), "Maryina Roshcha" (exit #6) and Moscow City (exit #4). All of them are marked with a red umbrella icon on the map in the Moscow Metro app.
To rent the accessory, you need to scan the QR code on the lid of the device and follow the further instructions. If the rental session is successful, the user gets information about the duration of the session, as well as an active button "Return the umbrella". To return the umbrella it is necessary to click on it and follow further instructions.
