European Union (EU) diplomatic chief Josep Borrell said on Nov. 29 that ending support for Kiev is the only way to quickly end the conflict in Ukraine.

"I can think of no other way to end the <military operation> quickly than to stop helping Ukraine and bring it to its knees before the Kremlin. That would be a quick but deeply unjust and dramatic way to end the <war operation>," RIA Novosti reported him as saying.

Borrell also pointed to Europe's precarious situation, the publication noted.

On the same day it was reported that in NATO there is a growing opinion about the need for a temporary cessation of the Ukrainian conflict to restore the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the subsequent re-offensive.

Prior to that, on November 24, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev advised to stop aid to Ukraine after Russia used the Oreshnik missile.

On November 20, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that freezing the conflict in Ukraine was not suitable for Russia. At the same time, he noted that head of state Vladimir Putin was ready for contacts and negotiations.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
