The Kola District Court of Murmansk region has sent the captain of the ship "Boyets", which capsized near the village of Teriberka in the Barents Sea, under house arrest. This was reported by the North-West Transport Prosecutor's Office on November 29.

"Today, taking into account the position of the Murmansk transport Prosecutor's office, the captain of the ship "Boyetz" elected a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Department.

According to the prosecutor's office, the captain managed the ship without a license for commercial passenger transportation. In addition, he does not have a diploma of the navigator.

It is also known that in July this year, the man was fined 25 thousand rubles for an administrative offense under part 1 of article 14.1.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Implementation of entrepreneurial activity in the field of transport without a license").

North-West Transport Prosecutor's Office reported on November 27 that a pleasure boat with tourists on board overturned in the waters of the Barents Sea in the Murmansk region. The cause of the roll, which caused the ship "Boyets" to sink near the village of Teriberka in the Barents Sea, could have been a high wave. According to the Izvestia source, there were 11 tourists on board the ship "Boets". They were rescued by the ship "St. Ekaterina".

A criminal case was initiated on this fact. During the investigation, alcohol was detected in the captain of the ship.
