- Foreign Ministry says confrontation with Russia will grow if the West introduces troops to Ukraine

The plans of the Western countries that voice their intentions to introduce their military contingent to Ukraine, if implemented, will mean even more involvement of the West in a direct clash with Russia. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said on November 29.
"Such plans, if an attempt is made to implement them, will of course mean even greater involvement of the West in a direct military confrontation with Russia. Actually, the West is already very deeply involved, as evidenced by the decision of Washington and other Western capitals to consent to strikes by Western long-range weapons against facilities deep inside Russian territory," he told reporters.
The diplomat noted that such plans are absolutely provocative. At the same time, the West does not realize that they will not be able to force Russia to compromise its interests.
"As Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has said more than once in recent weeks and days, we will respond to this, define the parameters of our response in accordance with the threats that arise or will arise. <...>. This line will be continued, and both the West and the Kiev regime should have no illusions that they will be able to force Russia to compromise its interests with their provocative actions," Galuzin added.
Earlier on November 29, political analyst Alexander Asafov noted in a conversation with Izvestia that the Western establishment is developing various scenarios for Ukraine against the backdrop of Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election. The option under which the country's territories will be divided between Western countries is also widely discussed. He also recalled the statement of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, which he made the day before. The British politician confirmed that the West was "waging war with foreign hands" and did not rule out the introduction of European peacekeepers to Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said that NATO plans to occupy the territory of Ukraine. It was specified that the UK, Romania, Poland and Germany would take part in the division of territories. It also pointed out that NATO has a growing opinion about the need for a temporary halt to the Ukrainian conflict in order to restore the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the subsequent repeat offensive.
Before that, on November 2, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that Ukraine would be in Western bondage for dozens of years and pay for its debts with its residents and territories. She added that those Ukrainians who are fit to provide services to Western Europe, Canada or the USA will be kept, while those who are "unsuitable from the NATO point of view will be wasted".
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
