A 23-year-old murder was solved in Moscow and a suspect was detained

The suspect in the attack on a married couple 23 years ago has been detained in the east of Moscow. About it on Friday, November 29, reported the capital's Investigative Committee (IC) in Telegram-channel.

"According to the investigation, in the early morning of May 20, 2001, two men burst into the apartment of a residential building located on Novokosinskaya Street in Moscow. Using violence against family members living in the apartment, the attackers tied their hands and feet, and beat a man and a woman in the presence of their infant daughter," the report says.

It is noted that the father of the girl died on the spot, after which the men took out of the house property and money and fled.

Investigators and criminalists of the State Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow together with employees of the first department of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Department of Internal Affairs for the Eastern Administrative District of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the capital managed to establish the identity of one of the defendants. It turned out to be a 43-year-old man, identified by the victim.

The man is suspected under item "g" and item "z" part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder from mercenary motives"), soon he will be chosen a measure of restraint.

At the moment, measures aimed at establishing the whereabouts of the accomplice of the detainee continue. The investigation into the criminal case is ongoing.

Earlier, on September 26, a man, who committed the murder of two people in the capital in 1995, was convicted in Moscow. He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment. He will serve his sentence in a strict regime penal colony.

In December 1995, convicted Igor Matyunin drank alcoholic beverages in the apartment of a casual acquaintance and his mother. Due to the unwillingness of the owners of the apartment to give the accused a television set, a conflict arose between them. After that, the defendant took a knife in the kitchen and stabbed the man in the chest, and then caught up with the woman and stabbed her at least five times in the area of vital organs.

The victim died of his injuries on the spot, and his mother died in hospital.
