Several villages in Transbaikalia refused to equip ice crossings

The Ministry of Emergency Situations will equip 14 ice crossings in six districts of Transbaikalia. However, not all settlements are ready for their appearance. This was reported to ChitaMedia IA by the regional department of the rescue agency.

According to Alexei Klyuev, the chief state inspector for small vessels of the region, it turned out that not all municipalities are responsible for safety on water bodies. Since the beginning of 2024, the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Zabaikalye has already three times appealed to the prosecutor's office on the facts of failure to take measures to ensure safety at water bodies. The heads of local self-government bodies had to be sanctioned.

Some municipalities and villages claim that they do not need an ice crossing. The cost of organizing a crossing is high, and there are bridges in these areas, local authorities explained. At the same time, EMERCOM employees who went to the places found out that in such areas cars move on unequipped crossings on water bodies.
