Rosselkhoznadzor will check the driver of a truck from Chita who left horses for 24 hours without water and food on Ugdansky Proyezd. The agency's Zabaikalsky Krai department told ChitaMedia news agency that it had received the case file from the Interior Ministry.

Only preventive measures will be taken against the truck driver for the time being, the department noted.

Eyewitnesses told about a herd of horses freezing in the truck on Thursday, November 28. According to preliminary data, the animals had no food and drink for a day. The press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs states that, according to the driver, the horses had food.

In October, it was reported that cases of animal rabies were detected in 18 regions of Russia. In September, according to Rosselkhoznadzor, infected animals were identified in 21 regions. On October 23, Moscow authorities imposed a quarantine on rabies in the district of Lyublino.
