The doctor told about the condition of those poisoned in the Altai social center

In the infectious disease departments of the City Hospital No. 5 in Barnaul are 23 people who were poisoned in a social center in Altai Krai. This was reported on November 29 by the head of the infectious disease department № 2 of the medical institution Anna Smirnova.

"At the moment in the departments of our hospital there are 23 patients of different ages, more of the older age group. Patients are really delivered from one social institution," - said the doctor.

According to Smirnova, all patients were diagnosed with "acute infectious gastroenterocolitis". It is specified that five patients are in serious condition. They are in the intensive care unit. In addition, 18 patients in a state of average severity.

On the same day it was reported that the number of victims of poisoning in a social center in the Altai region increased to 21 people. In the organization carried out processing and disinfection of premises. The guests continue to be monitored by medics.

Earlier, on November 28, it became known that in Altai Krai died three residents of a private social service center in the village of Kalistratikha Kalman district, several more sought medical help. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (ICS) of the Russian Federation for the region opened a criminal case on the indications of a crime under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements of life and health of consumers, causing the death of two or more persons by negligence").

The officers of the authorities have seized items of significance for the investigation. Forensic and chemical examinations are being conducted to establish the causes of the tragedy. Law enforcement agencies detained the chairman of the board of the social organization.
