Kirov Region Governor reports to Putin on regional economic growth

On November 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin received Kirov Region Governor Alexander Sokolov in the Kremlin and discussed with him the issues of socio-economic sphere of the region.

According to the head of the Kirov region, in 2023 the growth of the regional economy amounted to 104%, which exceeds the indicators of previous years and the national average. Industry, as he pointed out, has grown by 16% since the beginning of the year, noting that not only manufacturing, but also chemistry and woodworking are growing. Sokolov also noted good positions in dairy farming, despite the northern location of the region.

Also, the governor of the region pointed to the growth of salaries by 18% compared to 2023, as well as the revitalization of the construction sector, which grew by 128%.

"And we use the mechanism of integrated development of territories in order that we do not have "man-built" only built, and that there were also social facilities at once," - said Sokolov.

In addition, the head of the region noted the issue of demography, emphasizing that in order to increase the birth rate in the region has taken a measure to introduce additional payments for the birth of the first child - mothers during the year receive an average salary.

Speaking about gasification of the region, Sokolov said that by 2029 the entire region will be supplied with gas. "Gazprom", as the governor noted, has increased spending for these purposes five times - up to 31 billion rubles.

Earlier, on November 26, the governor of the Arkhangelsk region, Alexander Tsybulsky, told at a meeting with Putin that the region had recorded minimal unemployment. Tsybulsky answered the Russian leader's question about the drop in unemployment to a historic 1.4%, saying that today it is already below 1% in the region.
