Haval may start production of hybrid cars in Russia

The assembly line of the Haval plant in the Tula region may include a model with a hybrid powertrain. This was reported on November 29 by "Kommersant" with reference to the declaration for serial production of a new model received at the end of November by the company "HAVAL Motor Manufacturing Rus" LLC.
The document specifies a car type B16G. It is assumed that we are talking about the crossover Haval H-Dog. The TN VED code specified in the data corresponds to a hybrid car. There are no hybrid cars in the Haval lineup in Russia now. The company refused to comment on production plans.
In dimensions, presented in China Haval H-Dog is comparable, for example, with a crossover Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, which also has a hybrid modification in Russia. Parketnik is offered with a 1.5 turbo engine and two electric motors with a total output of 326 hp.
For ten months of 2024 in Russia, sales of new hybrids increased six times to 31.7 thousand units, while electric cars were sold twice less - 15.3 thousand units.
On November 26, Haval confirmed the start of production of the M6 crossover at the Kaluga plant "Automobile Technologies" (former PSMA Rus). When the Haval M6 of Kaluga assembly will be available for sale, representatives of "Haval Motor Rus" did not inform. Previously, such cars were either imported from China or produced at the Haval plant in the Tula region in small volumes. The Automobile Technologies plant has also started production of Citroen C5 Aircross.
