Roscongress said the US plans to return nuclear weapons to the Indo-Pacific region

TheUS is considering the possibility of returning nuclear weapons to the Indo-Pacific region. This follows from the report of the Roscongress Foundation, published on the organization's website on November 29.
It is noted that there is a possibility of transferring nuclear arsenals to Australia, as well as their deployment on US military bases in the Pacific.
"The U.S. is increasing the flexibility of potential deployment of nuclear weapons through the construction of Igloo-type ammunition storage facilities on the island of Guam and the construction of a site for the permanent deployment of B-52 bombers at the Royal Australian Air Force's Tindal airbase," the publication said.
According to "Roscongress", in the period from 2024 to 2029, the United States plans to invest about $138 billion in the modernization of nuclear warheads, while the project will involve more than 67 thousand employees.
Prior to that, on April 15, the coordinator of policy and research of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons Alicia Sanders-Zakre said that the U.S. secretly placed about 150 nuclear warheads at air bases in Europe. According to her, the US strategic bases are located in Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey. On the territory of Sweden and Finland, the US plans to place large armament and ammunition depots.
