Tallinn will rename two Russian schools in 2025

Tallinn authorities have decided to rename two Russian gymnasiums. This was reported by the portal of the Estonian National Broadcasting Company(ERR).
Thus, from March 2025 Russian gymnasium Haabersti will be called the Tallinn gymnasium Haabersti, and from September 2025 Lasnamäe Russian gymnasium - gymnasium Tähäsayu.
The decision was adopted unanimously by the deputies of the City Assembly.
As a result of renaming, the word "Russian" will remain in the name of only three municipal schools in Tallinn, notes "Gazeta.Ru".
Earlier, on October 15, it was reported that Tallinn City Hall decided to rename Moskovski Boulevard in Saaremaa. It was noted that 250 meters of the boulevard were attached to 1200 meters of Saaremaa boulevard and began to bear its name.
Estonia has long pursued a policy directed against Russia. For example, in August the authorities stopped translating laws into Russian, citing cost savings. In addition, it was repeatedly reported about the systematic infringement of the rights of the Russian-speaking population. In November, it was said that amendments to the Estonian constitution could deprive about 70,400 Russians and over 1,000 citizens of Belarus of the right to vote.
