The State Duma proposed to videotape all cab passengers

A bill has been submitted to the State Duma suggesting that cab cars must be equipped with recorders which will record what is happening in the cabin. The document has been published on the website of the lower house of parliament.
The bill was prepared by a group of deputies from the LDPR. Parliamentarians explained that the initiative was a reaction to a high-profile case in the Chelyabinsk region, where a woman cab driver was killed.
"We believe it is necessary to establish a requirement for the implementation of video recording in the passenger cab cabin and in the direction of the movement of the car during the performance of passenger transportation, as well as the placement of information in the cabin about the conduct of video recording", - stated in the explanatory note.
It is assumed that the costs of carriers' purchase of video recorders will be included in the taxable base, which will reduce the tax burden for organizations.
Video surveillance systems are used in public transport, which is both a valid prevention of offenses and crimes, and helps to ensure the safety of passengers in case of emergencies, for example, during accidents or conflicts, said the deputies. They stressed that Belarus has already introduced mandatory video recording of the process of transportation of cab passengers.
On the eve it became known that the amendments providing for an increase in fines for traffic violations, came to the State Duma. As reported "Vedomosti", fines for violation of a number of traffic rules may increase in Russia from January 1, 2025.
