CNN reported on Russia dictating its rules to the West in the Ukrainian conflict

In the course of the Ukrainian conflict, Russia has forced the West to play by its own rules, forcing it to proceed from Russian assumptions. This was reported by CNN on Friday, November 29, with reference to the report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
It is noted that Moscow's statements about retaliatory measures have become more explicit to date, after the administration of US President Joe Biden approved Ukraine 's authorization to launch longer-range US weapons at targets deep inside Russia.
"The Kremlin is fighting to force the West to reason from Russia's point of view rather than its own. The West is being induced to make decisions in that alternative reality of the Kremlin's generation that will allow Russia to win in the real world," the report said.
According toGazeta.Ru, the ISW report compares Russia's approach to Soviet "reflexive control." For example, the decision to supply arms to Ukraine in the West is made taking into account Russia's potential reaction.
On November 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons on Russian territory. Putin noted that the regional conflict on the Ukrainian side had acquired elements of a global character after Western long-range missile strikes on Russian territory.
At the same time, the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) launched a combined strike on a Ukrainian defense-industrial complex (DIC) facility in response to a strike on Russian territory with long-range missiles.
Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko told a plenary session of the chamber on November 27 that Putin's statements and Russia's use of the latest weaponry, including the Oreshnik medium-range missile, had laid the potential for negotiations on Ukraine. It said Moscow had a precise understanding that the message had been understood by all those to whom it was intended.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
