Valuev predicted the loss of Minakov in the fight with Johnson

State Duma deputy and former world boxing champion Nikolai Valuev on November 29 commented on the main and consonant fights to be held on December 13 in Moscow as part of the show "REN TV Fight Club. Superseries".

"One thing I can say: the question on boxing, so with Kevin Johnson purely in a boxing way to cope with will be very difficult. Minakov won't get anything special, at least nobody canceled the "Lucky Punch" (punch at random. - Ed.)", - said Valuev.

As part of the main fight of the boxing tournament in the gala show "Fight Club REN TV" in the ring will meet MMA legend and four-time world champion in sambo Vitaly Minakov and former challenger for the world title WBX heavyweight Kevin Johnson. For Minakov, Johnson's substantial boxing experience is a significant challenge.

Valuev also clarified that it is not worth hoping for a miracle that can change the course of the fight.

A large-scale boxing tournament as part of the gala show "REN TV Fight Club. Superseries" will be held on December 13 in the sports complex "Megasport". The main event of the evening will be a duel between MMA fighter Vitaly Minakov and boxer Kevin Johnson. Alexei Papin and American fighter Greg Hardy will meet in a consensual fight. Also European champion and two-time Russian boxing champion Sergey Kuzmin and professional boxer Murad Khalidov will enter the ring.

Earlier, on November 28, it became known that Vitaly Minakov accepted the challenge of Kevin Johnson, despite the fact that this is not the discipline in which he would like to perform. He added that he is not a boxer and for him such a fight is a gamble, but not a "hopeless option".

Before that, on November 25, sports commentator Alexander Sadokov said that U.S. -born and Russian citizen boxer Kevin Johnson has a slight advantage in a fight with MMA legend Vitaly Minakov. He called both athletes great masters who have their own strengths. However, the bout will be held under boxing rules, which shows the low success rate of mixed martial arts fighters. As an example, Sadokov cited Floyd Mayweather's victory over UFC champion Conor McGregor in a 2017 fight.
