Hygiene violations found in St. Petersburg sushi bar after mass fish poisoning

In St. Petersburg in the restaurant "Tokyo City" after the poisoning of 23 people seized all products of the institution, said the interlocutor of "Izvestiya" on November 29.

"Not given to dishes with trout and the entire range of dishes of the sushi bar, because, according to preliminary information from Rospotrebnadzor, in the fish revealed non-compliance with hygienic standards. There is no final information on the results of research of selected samples of products," - said the speaker.

After the mass poisoning in "Tokyo City" disinfected all premises, utensils, inventory and equipment. Employees underwent additional medical examination. On November 27, the restaurant worked in normal mode, but with changes in the menu.

The owner of the institution said that if there are requests for compensation for the victims of poisoning, the issue will be resolved in the manner prescribed by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Earlier in the day, salmonella bacteria were found in 12 people poisoned in the sushi bar. The victims are guests of the catering establishment "Tokyo City". The first eight patients turned to doctors with complaints of intestinal infection in the period from November 24 to 25. A sanitary and epidemiologic investigation is underway.

At the same time the interlocutor of "Izvestia" reported that 16 people were hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning after visiting a restaurant in St. Petersburg. The victims were given the necessary assistance. It was preliminarily noted that they have symptoms of salmonellosis (acute intestinal infection). At the moment the condition of the patients is characterized as satisfactory.
