The restaurant business in Lviv, a city in western Ukraine, is experiencing a crisis, which was caused by the outflow of migrants and high activity of territorial staffing centers (TSC) (analog of a military recruitment office). This was reported on November 28 by the Ukrainian version of Forbes magazine

"Fifty restaurants in Lviv are preparing to close, at least 50 closed a year earlier," - states the editorial board of the publication.

In the material, the decrease in demand for drinking establishments is explained by the departure of Ukrainian citizens, as well as the activation of the TCC.

Moreover, the former owner of one of the closed restaurants in a conversation with the magazine emphasized that in 2024 the number of regular visitors decreased by 70%.

Earlier, on November 28, it became known that Kiev is discussing with the US authorities the possibility of reducing the draft age to 18 years. On the eve of these events, the media began to publish news with reports that the administration of US President Joe Biden is pressuring Kiev to lower the mobilization age to 18.

In April, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired on May 20) signed a law on toughening mobilization. In particular, he lowered the mobilization age from 27 to 25 and signed a law on the creation of an electronic register of persons liable for military service, which combines information on the personal data of Ukrainians, including details of internal and foreign passports. There are no provisions on demobilization in the documents.

Martial law in the country has been in effect since February 2022. At the same time Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its effect. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.
