Pro-Palestinian activists tried to disrupt the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in the United States. This was reported by the New York Post (NYP) on November 28.

The activists blocked the parade route and blocked the movement of the Ronald McDonald's balloon. Protesters sat on the road with placards and chanted calls for the liberation of Palestine.

One of the demonstrators' placards read "Don't celebrate genocide."

According to the newspaper, police detained about 25 protesters. Law enforcement authorities handcuffed them and took them out of the event area.

Prior to that, on November 11, Dutch police reported the detention of more than 100 protesters who opposed a ban on demonstrations in Amsterdam following a clash between Israeli soccer fans and Palestinian supporters.

Earlier in May this year, a demonstration by pro-Palestinian activists at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City was reported. The protesters started the action around 4:00 p.m. (23:00 Moscow time) in the Fort Greene neighborhood, from where they moved towards the museum. They also threw garbage at police officers.

Anti-Israel speeches and rallies regularly take place around the world. People advocate for an Israeli ceasefire, call for a halt to genocide and a resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Often such actions are violently suppressed by the police.

The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian movement Hamas subjected the territory of Israel to massive rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. Israel began retaliatory strikes the same day.

The Palestinians are trying to ensure that future borders between the two countries follow the lines that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War, with possible land swaps. Palestine wants to establish its own state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Israel refuses to return to the 1967 borders and divide Jerusalem.
