The court sentenced Idalov's lawyer to 1.5 years of compulsory labor

The court passed a sentence on lawyer Timur Idalov. This is reported by the correspondent of "Izvestia" from the hall of Khimki City Court of Moscow region.

He was sentenced to one year and 11 months of forced labor, the man is also banned from practicing law for three years.

The lawyer is charged under part 2 of article 296 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Threat of murder against a prosecutor in connection with the consideration of a case in court"). According to the investigation, he publicly expressed a threat to commit murder against the prosecutor of the Moscow prosecutor's office.

Until the sentence comes into force, Idalov will be detained.

Earlier, on October 31, it was reported that Idalov, who had fled Moscow, was detained in Chechnya. He was taken back to the capital.

A criminal case against the lawyer was initiated after he threatened to use violence against the state prosecutor in October 2022, being in the hall of one of the Moscow courts, not hiding his own disrespect for the institution and participants in the process.
